William “Bill” Sterling Pendleton

Mr. William Sterling (Bill) Pendleton, age 79, of Harrogate, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on October 12, 2014. He was born December 10, 1934, the son of the late Roy and Regina (Lingar) Pendleton. Bill was saved at an early age and joined the Indian Creek Baptist Church in 1952 where he was a loyal member until his death. He also served as deacon for 59 years. He served his country in the United States Army, spending most of his time in Germany. When he returned, he was employed by Montgomery Ward for over 35 years.

He was preceded in death by Sylvia B. (Littrell) Pendleton, his wife of 58 years; brother, Harold Pendleton of Monroe, Michigan; nephews, Roger Connor of Monroe, Michigan, Charles "Sonny" Littrell of Columbus, Indiana, and niece, Lora Leigh Pendleton of Harrogate, Tennessee.

He is survived by his son, Greg (Gail) Pendleton; sister, Wanda (Chet) Susong; brother, Ed (Dorothy) Pendleton; sisters-in-law, Pat Turner of Monroe, Michigan, Mrs. Esther Helen Brittain of Villa Rica, Georgia, Mrs. Evelyn Brooks of Harrogate, Tennessee; nieces and nephews, Sandy (Brent) DeWeese, Barbara (Larry) Segar, Penny Baron, Junior (Holly) Pendleton, Joey Pendleton, Steve (Amy) Pendleton, Nancy (David) Bush, Lisa Susong, Craig Susong, Clark (Lynette) Susong, Rosanne (Terry) Brooks, Cindy Crockett, Valerie Brooks, Donna Littrell, Wanda Aaronstam, Kathy Craft, Pam (Brian) Free, Debbie (Bob) Howard and several great nieces and nephews.

The family received friends from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at Coffey Funeral Home Harrogate with funeral service at 8 p.m. with Rev. Clayton Dunsmore, Rev. Stewart Fultz and Rev. Steve Moyers officiating. Music provided by Amy Pendleton. Graveside service was held at Greer's Chapel Cemetery in Harrogate, Tennessee, on Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at 11 a.m.

Pallbearers: Steve Pendleton, Adam Pendleton, Clark Susong, Craig Susong, David Bush, Billy Montgomery, Billy Cunningham and Deloy Collins. Honorary pallbearers: Dr. George Day, Dr. Gary Burchett and the men of Indian Creek Baptist Church.
